Says Heather Lewis:
“I am the epitome of a true southern girl. I was two weeks behind schedule when I was born, and I have not sped up since. I don’t like to call myself slow feeling as if methodical is a better word. I love all things fried, including my candy bars. I’ll take a sweet tea any day of the week, at any time of the day.
“My parents got married in high school and had me by the time my mother was 21. They both still live in my home town, which is something that will never change. My mom still has my room just as I left it, always ready for me to occupy my space. In one person, I am the only child, the oldest child, and the youngest child. It’s not as complicated as it sounds.
“My work is intensely personal, yet has the ability to ignite and stir memories within the viewer of their own personal family album. Many taken with toy cameras, the images have a quality of nostalgia and without many clear faces, one can easily interpret themselves in the images.
“I completed a Master of Fine Arts degree from Savannah College of Art and Design, a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Carolina University, and an Associate in Arts from the Art Institute of Atlanta.”
