REPORT FROM THE SEA OF MOISTURE
The mocking-bird bush
squats under the riverbank
making a deposit.
It will grow, compounding all the way to the sea,
and the toadfish, which is real,
will swim disdainfully away
into the arms of the moon,
her ruby nipples fire stones,
her breasts edible oceans,
her flanks warm as yesterday’s magma
